Capstone Strategic Alliance

Highlander Partners has established a strategic alliance with Capstone Capital Partners, a private equity firm led by Terry Morgan, an experienced turnaround executive, to share resources on “special situation” transactions. Through this alliance, Highlander and Capstone focus on making control equity investments in underperforming or distressed lower-middle-market companies that may require management expertise, access to capital, and strategic support to improve operational performance.

Highlander and Capstone prefer manufacturing and value-added distribution companies in the Midwest, but also would consider any domestic company in any industry other than technology, retail or natural resources. There is also a strong preference to invest in businesses with a significant asset base and operating history.

Highlander and Capstone seek to build long-term value by investing $10 to $20 million of equity in companies that have a viable core business, but lack needed bridge financing and/or adequate human and organizational resources.

Highlander and Capstone’s alliance, while seamless to the selling party, provides significant financial and management resources to the acquired businesses and has a proven track record of significantly improving corporate performance through hands-on strategic and operational management initiatives.
